Urn Planting (5/9, 9 AM and 5/10 12 PM)

Submitted by Karen Markman:

Urns are  "adopted" by neighbors - usually those who live close to the urn they want to take care of.  Most urns are taken care of by the same people every year (and many take strong offense to anyone else messing with their urn!) but each year as people move on we need a few new volunteers.  I have a list of the people who are already assigned to each urn so anyone interested in becoming an urn "parent" or who simply wants to let me know that an urn seems to need nurturing should contact me.  Woodruff provides the flowers for each urn at no charge (although some people prefer to supply their own) and those flowers may be picked up at the Town Hall on Saturday May 9 from 10-2 or on Sunday May 10 from 12-3.  I will be calling all former urn "parents" to confirm their commitment and to remind them of plant pick-up during the week prior to planting.  My phone number is 917-9187 for anyone who wants more information.

Also, the nursery is dropping off the plants on Wed afternoon May 6 and I could use some volunteers to help unload the truck.  Thanks!
